Happy June everyone! I am so excited to partner with Coca-Cola™ in the Share A Coke And A Song Campaign. Music has a way to take everyone back to a certain place and time. As the song goes, “Every time I hear that song, I go back.”. So, I headed to my neighborhood Randalls to get in on the Share A Coke action!

The Share A Coke And A Song campaign made me think of all the songs I hold dear in my heart. My anniversary is next month and one song, most importantly, is the song my husband and I danced to on our wedding night called “Timing Is Everything”. It’s a song that combines feelings of sadness and complete joy.

Every single word brings back a feeling and a memory. I flash back thinking of how I was bawling on my husbands shoulder while dancing at our wedding. Then I look back to the time after our wedding, dancing in our small apartment living room to the same song.

I want to show you how to capture those sweet memories with a lyric frame and show it off in your house for friends and family to see!

Lets get crafty shall we?

For this project you’ll need:

A matted frame (pictured is an 8×10 matted to a 5×7), a ruler, and a pen/pencil, lyrics to your favorite song.

Step One: If you’re horrible at writing in a straight line keep reading.. if not, consider yourself blessed and head to step two. Measure line space on the matted frame with a pencil and lightly continue them using the ruler until you’re happy with the spacing.

Step Two: Get those lyrics ready and start jotting them down. I originally had planned to write them up in pencil first, and trace later, however I urge you not to perfect your handwriting. It is you and it’s what will bring this peace is uniqueness and sentiment.

Step Three: When you’re finished take the eraser and remove any obvious lines.

Voila! You have a piece that will stay with you forever! I chose this picture because it’s the one I used for our save the dates. We weren’t even married, so young, yet so very much in love.. and not much has changed today!

I especially love this DIY with milestone moments, pictures of children, or even as an anniversary gift!

For bonus points.. When you grab your Coca-Cola and can’t quite put your finger on the song, the Shazam App has your back. Download it on your iPhone, iPad, Android and other devices to get your Coca-Cola Share a song title, it can read your bottle y’all! Record yourself jamming out to it, and share it with friends straight from the app!

This is the summer of good music and great friends! If you try this DIY make sure to tag me on social media! @stringfellowandco

  • I just love this idea for a gift idea. I need to think of some good lyrics for my husband for Father’s Day. I could get the kids to write the song. Thanks for the idea! {client}
